The development of the cognitive sphere of a preschooler is a very difficult and responsible task. Many young parents whose child goes to kindergarten are wondering what means should be used to develop cognitive activity in children. How not to kill the child's interest in the world, and support the little explorer? Let's try to answer these difficult questions, taking into account the peculiarities of the cognitive development of preschool children. Let's borrow experience professional educators kindergartens.

In preschool institutions, educators use special tools and methods that help preserve and maintain children's curiosity. The first means stimulating the development of cognitive activity is the subject-developing environment. It is specially equipped so that the information received by the child concerns not only actual development(what is available to the child at the moment), but also the nearest (what will be available, so to speak, at the next level).

Teachers adhere to the same principle in classes, running a little ahead, giving the child a little more than it should be for age. But don't go too far. If you give a child information that is too complex for his age, on the contrary, it will beat off the craving for knowledge.

Information should only be slightly ahead of age.

Not only the complexity is important, but also the form in which the information is presented. In order to choose the form of classes, one should remember the leading activity of preschoolers - this is a game. Classes in preschool educational institutions always include a game element, and even are completely conducted in the form of a game. At the story-game lesson, children complete quests through which they learn new ways of action, opening up new opportunities for them to explore the world in Everyday life.

Another important detail of any lesson in a preschool educational institution is a large amount of visualization, as the prevailing thinking in a preschooler is visual-figurative. Visualization is divided into two types: subject-toys, household items, objects of wildlife (volumetric) and illustrative-pictures, illustrations, diagrams (senior preschool age). When selecting visual aids, clear rules are observed. Pictures and objects should be aesthetic, recognizable, close to reality, just as children should receive correct scientific information. Both types of visualization help the child learn the material being taught faster, easier and more firmly.

An important role in the development of cognitive activity of children is played by non-standard forms of classes. In such classes, children are more actively involved in learning activities. Leisure activities, relay races, games like “What, where, when”, quizzes make learning more entertaining and emotionally colored. In addition to everything, in addition to obtaining and consolidating knowledge, in such classes, children gain teamwork skills in a team, learn to remember the necessary information quickly and instantly respond to sudden changes in the situation.

Occupation in kindergarten

But life in a kindergarten is not only classes, a love of knowledge is instilled in all routine moments: on walks, in independent games, and even during meals.

Educators with children are very fond of observing objects of animate and inanimate nature, examining them in detail.

Advice to parents: Such observations can be accompanied by reading poetry, a story about a variety of beliefs associated with the object of observation, proverbs, sayings and other works of UNT.

If the object is familiar to the child, it will be useful to ask 2-3 questions about it to refresh existing knowledge, then you should expand your understanding of the object with new details.

But it is not enough for a child to observe, he needs actions, practice, experiments.

It is possible and necessary to experiment with a child, children better learn cause-and-effect relationships in practical activities. Without experimentation, full development is impossible at any age. And the development of the cognitive activity of children of older preschool age generally moves through experiments as much as through play. in older preschool age, they actually become the second leading activity.

Tip: at the beginning of any experiment, you should create a game situation, for example, “We are laboratory assistants, we are conducting experiments to help scientists.”

Joint activities and conversations bring together

Conversations are a common practice in preschool educational institutions. They are of great developmental value. The child needs to be told as much as possible about natural phenomena, processes occurring in nature, about the origin of products and things.

Tip: the conversation will become more memorable if after it you watch an educational cartoon or read a book about the object of the conversation.

If there is no strength for experiments, for inventing conversations or searching for the next object for observation, you can resort to the method of reading fairy tales. It is not necessary to limit yourself to author's fairy tales, you can come up with your own, beat them with puppets, or even arrange a small performance with actors (family members) in disguise. The value of this method is that even quite complex phenomena can be explained in fairy tales in a simple and understandable language. In addition, the method of reading fairy tales may in the future have a beneficial effect on the child's own ability to compose works, this will greatly help at school when children begin to be taught to write compositions.

The formation of children's curiosity is always facilitated by psychological support and a willingness to learn new things together with the child. ☝

You should not drive away the child, if he came with a question, you need to give him a scientific and at the same time understandable answer. In case you are really very busy, then say that as soon as you finish, you will definitely answer the child’s question, and most importantly, keep your promise. A broken promise can permanently destroy a child's trust in you. If you don’t know the answer to the question posed by the child, you don’t need to be ashamed of your ignorance, you should admit it and look for the answer with the child, this approach will teach the child not only to look for information, but will help him admit his mistakes in the future.

Tasks of parents in cognitive development

If a child asks a question on a topic on which there are several points of view, it is advisable to voice all these points to the child, or at least the main ones. This will teach the child to understand that the world is not divided into black and white, that there is nothing unambiguous. In the future, this understanding will form the child's ability to be tolerant of other people's points of view and accept their right to exist. In addition, this approach will teach the child to choose his own worldview, which reduces the likelihood of falling under bad influence in adolescence.

Sensory development types

Childish pranks

Sometimes children are naughty, but do not rush to scold the child for a prank. You should think about how to take control of children's pampering and translate it into a cognitive channel. Example: the child opened the faucet in the kitchen, turned on the water and threw forks into it. Instead of swearing and punishment, you should pay attention to the fact that objects sink in water and tell the reason for this, then gently invite the child to watch a cartoon about this phenomenon. Thus, you switch the child from unsatisfactory to another activity without leaving him with a mental trauma. Many actions (especially at a younger preschool age) are performed by children not to harm or spoil their mood, but out of a desire to learn about the surrounding reality. Therefore, it is necessary not to stop unwanted actions in harsh ways, but to smoothly switch to another activity that is interesting for the child, preferably one that will give the child new information about the environment.

Ways of interaction between an adult and a child

Tip: always at the end of the day discuss with your child what you have learned today.

Not only the child should talk about their discoveries, it is also important that parents tell what they have learned in a day.

Opening the world together

Be sure to praise the child every time he shows interest in the world. You should not laugh at the child for not knowing the obvious facts, where it is better to rejoice with him for having learned them.

Show your child different ways to solve the same problem. The ability to solve a problem in different ways is the beginning of creative thinking. Encourage if the child himself has found a non-standard way of solving a problem. In order for the child to learn how to do this, situations should be created where the child would have to look for a way to solve a particular problem on his own, however, it should be remembered that the situation should slightly run ahead (i.e., into the zone of proximal development), this zone should be expanded gradually, a sharp jerk can form a negative assessment of their abilities in a child.

Methods of cognitive development in the preschool educational institution and at home

Visiting museums with interactive programs will also positively affect cognitive development; excursions and trips to historical places should not be neglected. You should visit as many places as possible with your child, from scientific exhibitions to your own work. The more places a child visits, the wider his horizons. It is useful to go to science events for children, where scientists explain science to children in a non-standard way.

Games and Information

An integral element of the formation of cognitive activity are didactic games: lotto, dominoes, labyrinths, puzzles, etc. Some of them are often used in the classroom as exercises. It is necessary to play such games in everyday life with a child as often as possible. Didactic games develop all mental processes (memory, thinking, speech, perception, etc.). From the age of 6, you can start introducing your child to chess and checkers. Chess and checkers will help in the development of logic.

It is important not only to teach the child to find information, but also to give the skill to understand it, for this it is necessary not only to tell the child known facts, but also to explain the cause-and-effect relationships where it came from and how it works.

Didactic games are a great method

Physical development and motor skills

Developing intellectual abilities, one should not forget about the development of physical qualities. because they are connected.

The development of large and fine motor skills will positively affect mental development. With the development of fine motor skills, finger movements become more subtle and differentiated, which, firstly, will help you quickly master the skill of writing in primary school Secondly, it will positively affect the development of thinking and speech. The development of gross motor skills also has a positive effect on the intellect, in addition to this, it contributes to the development of volitional qualities that will help the child in the future.

For the development of fine motor skills, it is useful to play with different types of cereals, do finger gymnastics, and fine arts(especially with non-standard techniques related to pinching, pinching, finger painting, gluing, etc.), at an older age it is useful to introduce a child to knitting and beading.

For the development of large motor skills, sports sections are well suited. In them, in addition to sports exercises, the child will be able to throw out energy. Parents also need to exercise with their children. This will also contribute to the formation of a healthy and active lifestyle.

The development of motor skills affects mental capacity

Results

All of the above methods, methods and means stimulate the development of cognitive activity in children. But the most important method remains the personal example of the parent. If a child sees that adults nearby show interest in the world, he himself will show curiosity. Spend more time with your children, if no development is possible with a child.

Working with children in a preschool educational institution (DOE) requires high professionalism of employees. AND a good education, love for kids are the key components of pedagogical skills. However, there is another aspect of activity that plays the role of a perpetual motion machine in working with the younger generation. We are talking about the self-education of the teacher - the constant self-development and improvement of the methods and methods of work used.

Theoretical aspects of the process of self-education of the preschool teacher

Federal State educational standard(FGOS) self-education (in some sources - self-development) is determined by the process of constant cognitive work of the teacher, which has the character methodological improvement knowledge, skills and abilities of interaction with children, parents and colleagues.

This is interesting. Despite the fact that the concepts of self-education and self-development in pedagogical sources are often interchangeable, there are differences between them. In particular, a distinctive feature of self-development is that this work can include not only an educational component, but also physical self-improvement. While self-education implies only expanding the boundaries of the cognitive sphere.

Self-education accompanies the entire period professional activity teacher

Self-education of the educator: goals and objectives

Replenishment of their own methodological developments of the members of the teaching staff of the kindergarten sets the following goals:

  • acquaintance with innovative psychological and pedagogical technologies, their development and the search for optimal ways to combine with those that are already used in the work;
  • improving the quality of education in groups of different ages by systematizing the advanced methodological and psychological and pedagogical experience of colleagues;
  • creation of suitable conditions for the comprehensive physical and mental development of children, as well as for the education of creative personalities.

To achieve the above goals of self-education, the teacher in the work solves a number of tasks:

Thus, the tasks of work on self-education are of a successive nature, that is, from year to year the teacher covers the same set of issues, but at a level that is relevant for a particular age of children.

Principles of self-development

The process of work to improve existing pedagogical developments is based on 4 principles:

  • Continuity. As already mentioned, on the basis of one set of topics, the teacher chooses a particular topic, develops it within one academic year, less often two. It turns out that self-education accompanies the entire period pedagogical activity educator at preschool.

Work on self-education begins from the first days of professional activity and, as a rule, does not have cardinal changes in the trajectory of consideration of the initially selected problems.

  • Relationship. A principle directly related to the first. For example, considering questions speech development children 3-4 years old, the teacher will not be able to fully reveal the topic without taking into account the developments on this topic in the previous year, that is, in working with kids 2-3 years old. Therefore, quite often, such issues are considered within the framework of the combined pairs of groups: "Speech development of children in the first and second junior groups of preschool educational institutions" or "Development of fine motor skills in older groups in the aspect of preparing a hand for writing."
  • Compliance with the direction of disclosure of the chosen topic of the general strategy of the educational process in kindergarten. For example, in 2016, the Federal State Educational Standard recommended topics related to inclusive education in preschool educational institutions, although earlier this topic was the prerogative of a speech pathologist only. So, if there are children with developmental disabilities in the group, then the issue of self-education may include either certain aspects of working with such kids, or be completely devoted to the practice of involving a disabled child in the educational process, working with the families of such kids, etc.
  • Availability. This principle concerns, firstly, the practical implementation of the self-education project. Simply put, if a teacher considers non-traditional drawing techniques in the first junior group, then visual activity with fingers will fully correspond to the level of development and perception of children, in contrast to, for example, creating pictures with soap bubbles. And secondly, one of the forms of reporting on the implementation of the self-education program is the presentation of experience to young colleagues. This is a presentation of one's own developments, which should be understandable to others not only from a methodological point of view, but also from a general cultural point of view. Do not frighten the audience with complex terms, space-scale projects, etc.

The principle of accessibility applies not only to work with children, but also with parents, as well as with colleagues, including within the framework of the institute of mentoring

Forms of work

The educational activity of the preschool educational institution implies the interaction and interconnection of all those who take part in the process of training, development and education of the younger generation. This is the teaching staff as the subject of the educational process, kids and their parents as objects of activity. Therefore, the forms of work on self-improvement of pedagogical skills, one way or another, include in the work all the designated categories of persons.

Program of work on the topic of self-education

The organization of the process of highlighting the issue depends on how carefully and methodically the work will be built.

Topic selection

At this stage, which usually takes place in August-September, the teacher formulates the research topic depending on those topical issues with which he encounters in his work.

The location of the kindergarten near the roadway determines the relevance of choosing one of the topics related to health-saving technologies related to the study of traffic rules at an accessible level for a particular age.

Difficulties may relate to the choice of individual forms of work with children of a certain age.

The list of topics is common for educators of all groups, the differences are determined by the characteristics characteristic of the age of the wards. For example, in younger groups, the development of fine motor skills will be focused on choosing the optimal list of finger exercises, and in older groups, the emphasis is on training tasks aimed at preparing the hand for writing.

Self-education topics for narrow specialists will have some target specifics

Examples of plans for self-education of narrow specialists

When compiling individual routes for self-education, narrow specialists can consider the topic as part of its implementation in work with children different ages simultaneously.

The work of a speech therapist can be in the nature of searching for methods and techniques to solve the general problem of speech development, regardless of the age of the pupils.

Self-education plan "Cognitive and research activities of preschool children"

PLAN

on self-education on the topic:

« Cognitive and research activities of preschool children»

caregiver: Kurkina A. A.

He plagued adults with the question "Why?"

He was nicknamed "The Little Philosopher".

But as soon as he grew up, they began to

Present answers without questions.

And since then he is no one else

Doesn't ask "why" questions.

Relevance:

Working in a kindergarten, every day I observe how enthusiastically children explore the world, they are natural explorers of the world around them. The world opens up to the child through the experience of his personal sensations, actions, experiences. Thanks to this, he knows the world in which he came. He studies everything as he can and with what he can - with his eyes, hands, tongue, nose. He even rejoices the smallest opening.

When organizing our work, we tried to ensure that the process was structured in such a way that the child was an active participant in it, and not a passive observer. It is important to develop a craving for knowledge, to present children not with ready-made truths, conclusions and generalizations, but to make sure that the child himself explores, experiments, observes, feels, compares, analyzes, sees the results of his small experiments.

Problem:

Often on the desire of the child become acquainted with the outside world we react So: “Get away from the puddle immediately, you have already soiled your dress! Don't touch the sand with your hands, it's dirty! Take the scoop! Dust off your hands, look, they are already all in the sand! Throw this filth away, where do you find such a thing? Better ride the swings! Throw a stone, get dirty! Don't look around or you'll trip! Better watch your step!"

Maybe we - fathers and mothers, grandparents, educators and teachers, unwittingly, discourage the child's natural interest in research? Time passes, and the child himself speaks to others children: you can’t touch the sand with your hands, it’s dirty, and it’s completely uninteresting to him why leaves fall from the trees. Perhaps we have simply lost our childish ability to see and observe? In order for children not to lose interest in the world around them, it is important to support their desire to explore everything and everything in time. Even if beautiful clothes suffer or hands get dirty. Clothes can be washed, hands can be washed. But the lost interest in the environment over the years is almost impossible to restore.

Goals:

1. Development cognitive activity of children in the process of experimentation

2. Creation of conditions for the formation of the main holistic worldview of an older child preschool age means of physical experiment.

3. Development of observation, the ability to compare, analyze, generalize, development cognitive interest of children in the process of experimentation, establishing a causal relationship, the ability to draw conclusions.

4. Development of attention, visual, auditory sensitivity.

Tasks:

Expand View children about physical properties surrounding peace:

Meet children with the properties of the soil and its constituent sand and clay.

To form experience in the implementation of safety regulations when conducting physical experiments.

Develop an emotional and valuable attitude to the world around.

Develop intellectual emotions children: create conditions for
