Evening was falling. Through the dense coastal thickets, reflections of the sunset fell on the water, stretched in living streams into the depths and were lost there, not reaching the bottom. Saying goodbye to the day, here and there titmouse tinkered sadly, jays wept, loons groaned. And yet it was much more fun by the lake than in the thick of the taiga.

The forest paths are narrow, winding, like wrinkles on the forehead of grandfather Athanasius.

Throughout the forest, Nutcrackers were anxiously shouting in the manner of bazaar traders. Somewhere, a zhelna began to cry like a child. Above Vasyutka's head, squeaking busily, the titmouse gutted an old tree. Vasyutka got up, stretched, and frightened off a feeding squirrel. She, clattering excitedly, rushed up the trunk of the spruce, sat down on a twig, and, without ceasing clattering, stared at Vasyutka.

Vasyutka is a thirteen-year-old boy from Siberia. All summer, together with the team of his father Grigory Shadrin, his mother and grandfather Athanasius, he lives on the banks of the Yenisei at a fishing camp. Vasyutka is doing very well in the taiga, in his father's brigade. Vasyutka is hardworking, cannot sit idle when adults are working nearby. He does what he can, collecting pine nuts.

Vasyutka has a very inquisitive mind. He listens attentively to adults, remembers everything they say. "Taiga doesn't like flimsy ones," his relatives teach. In the evenings, when the fishermen crack the nuts they brought, Vasyutka listens to their stories and decides what he would do in this or that situation. Being in the taiga, he always thinks about people, makes notches on trees because he understands that they will be useful not only to him.

Vasyutka loves nature, her taiga. For him, the taiga is like family. Vasyutka talks to a nutcracker and a squirrel, does not shoot in vain, but does not let herself go to waste from hunger. The first time he successfully shoots a capercaillie. Because of him, all his troubles began. At thirteen, Vasyutka knows the rules of behavior in the taiga. This knowledge will save his life. When Vasyutka realizes that he is lost, he will be confused and cry. But he will quickly pull himself together and start looking for a way home. When night falls and one becomes afraid, he remembers his school, friends, teacher. He has hardly been anywhere else, except for Igarka, but he believes that the time will come and he will see a big and interesting world. Coming to the lake, Vasyutka realizes that he is saved, because the lake is flowing, which means it flows into the Yenisei. He makes his way through the windbreak, hurries to his father and mother, but at the same time he thinks what a great lake he found, how many fish there are and how good it will be for the fishermen to fish.

Quite deservedly, the lake was named after him "Vasyutkino Lake". And even though this is just a small dot on the map, this is a big discovery in the fate of the boy and the entire fishing team.

Vasyutka is a heroic boy, he helps to believe that a way out of any situation can be found. He is young, but he a real man, Siberian.

Vasyutka is the main character of the story "Vasyutkino Lake" by Viktor Petrovich Astafyev. His full name is Vasily Shadrin. The boy is thirteen years old. His father, Grigory Shadrin, works as the head of a fishermen's brigade.

Vasyutka, for his thirteen years old, already knew and could do a lot of things. Not all guys could boast of this at that time. The boy very often went with his father to work with him. Almost always fishermen told different stories while cracking nuts.

Vasya always went to the forest for nuts for fishermen or just to wander around. He was well versed in birds, knew how to shoot a gun, could make a fire in the rain and cook food. Vasyutka's family consists of four people - mother Anna, father Grigory, Vasya himself and grandfather Athanasius.

Once Vasily once again went for nuts for the fishermen. The boy chased the capercaillie and suddenly lost his markings on the trees. At first, the boy was scared, but he always remembered the saying of his father and grandfather: "the taiga does not like the flimsy." Then Vasya immediately pulled himself together, overcame his fear. The boy knew that if he was afraid, then he might not find a way out of the forest. He spent four days in the taiga. When Vasily was trying to find a way out, he accidentally came across a lake. There were a lot of white fish in it. The boy was able to determine that it was a flowing lake. Thanks to this, he found the Yenisei River, near which his city was. When Vasyutka got out, he told his family and fishermen about the lake. Two days later, the father with the brigade and Vasyutka went to look at that lake. Now they are fishing there, and the lake began to be called Vasyutkin.

I just admire Vasyutka. He was able to survive in the forest - in the taiga! So many dangers awaited him, so many things… And he coped with everything! He didn't panic, didn't get depressed... I don't know what I would do in such a situation. This is so scary! Forest, night, loneliness. There is little food, it is cold, there are wild animals around. And mom is not around, and no one at all. Of course, I wouldn't want this to happen to me. But if suddenly this happens, I now know how to behave. How not to panic, how not to give up! You need to be careful, for example, Vasyutka found a river along the stream. You still need to be dexterous, because he managed to catch a fish and kindle a fire.

And he also managed to climb a tree to look at the road, although this did not help him. On the contrary, around the taiga, Vasyutka was upset. On the other hand, he could see houses, smoke from a chimney, a river ... some kind of landmark. It's just bad luck here. He is also patient. He ate pine nuts, although his tongue and teeth already hurt, but he saved bread.

In general, he is good. But he had to show these qualities when he drove himself into this situation with others. That is, he did not listen to his mother, that you need to be careful - do not go far. He wandered quite far. Moreover, he was carried away by this stupid capercaillie and chased after him. The boy simply frivolously forgot about everything in the world! So he got lost, he stopped noticing the notches. It's like being distracted by messages on your phone or a game while driving. All this may be important, but you should not put yourself and others at risk. However, I don’t know if I could have avoided chasing the capercaillie. Now I can!

I think that after such an adventure, Vasyutka will become exemplary. Moreover, he found a whole lake! It's good that everything ended so well. Thanks to his good qualities (dexterity, patience, courage), Vasyutka got out of the taiga, but because of his enthusiasm and inattention, he got lost there. I think now he will become more mature and serious. And so it can not be strictly judged, because he is still just a child.

This demonstrates a responsible attitude towards nature. But still, he is a hunter, so he could not resist the temptation to shoot a capercaillie and for some time lost his vigilance.

When Vasyutka got lost in the taiga and was looking for his way home, his best character traits were revealed in these few days. Like any person, especially a teenager, he was scared and tears welled up in his eyes more than once. But he managed to gather his courage, did not panic, on the contrary - Vasyutka thought very rationally.

The boy did not waste all his strength on empty screams, because no one would hear him anyway. He took care of his safety and settled down for the night, and also managed to cook a bird. He clearly distributed the available food supplies, did not waste cartridges in vain.

Vasyutka is a very observant boy, he was able to understand that he was going to the lake over bumps and changed vegetation. Then he looks closely at the fish and determines that this lake should flow into the river.
