Reason is the ability of a person to think creatively and logically, to generalize the results of knowledge. Feeling - the ability to feel, experience, perceive external influences, be aware of the environment. 25 words

Both of these components are human personality. In order for a person to remain in harmony with himself, it is necessary that feeling and reason be in harmony. If reason prevails, then the person will become callous, soulless, selfish. If only feelings-passions triumph in a person, and the mind fades into the background, then a person can stop controlling himself, start destroying everything around. But there are people who live by feelings and do good deeds, have good intentions.

What can happen from the predominance of one component over the other? What is the difference between a feeling driven by a good heart and a feeling driven by passions?

The problem of dissonance between reason and feeling in Russian literature is touched upon very often.

By tradition, writers gave primacy to feelings. I absolutely agree with them. A person whose personality is dominated by feelings that are pure and sincere, but not low and animal passions, is humane and kind to others, cares about their welfare, is ready for free help, is not indifferent to the misfortunes of strangers. The personification of purity, humanity and compassion is Sonya Marmeladova, the main character of Fyodorov Mikhailovich Dostoevsky's novel Crime and Punishment. Sonya is a person who lives according to God's laws, who is sympathetic to the problems of others, ready to help in difficult times, to share suffering. The Marmeladov family was in distress, and in poverty. Sonya had to commit a crime, to commit violence against herself: to engage in prostitution. Despite such a terrible price, she decides on this sin in order to save her loved ones from starvation. Sonya also helps Raskolnikov. She supports him at a difficult moment in his life, follows him to hard labor, thereby helping his soul to be healed and resurrected. A person driven by sincere feelings and noble goals cares about the welfare of others, without benefiting from it. He has such qualities as mercy, disinterestedness, kindness. Such a person is capable of performing high, moral deeds under the influence of high spiritual feelings.

If feelings-passions enslave a person, this can lead to his moral death. One who has fallen under the influence of animals, low passions, becomes capable of disgusting, vile deeds. Arkady Ivanovich Svidrigailov - the complete opposite of Sonya Marmeladova - is such a person. Passions are raging in his life. He is voluptuous, cynical. Svidrigailov ruined the lives of other people, including his wife, Marfa Petrovna, whom, according to rumors, he poisoned. Arkady Ivanovich belongs to the type of people who have fallen under the harmful influence of destructive passions. People whose feelings are driven by such passions become selfish, their actions are destructive to others. They are driven not high moral feelings and animal instincts.

Man is a rational being. This feature distinguishes him from others. species. But a person who has completely fallen under the control of a cold, calculating mind becomes a cynical, cold machine capable of immoral acts. The problem of the victory of reason over feeling is clearly expressed in the main character of the novel "Crime and Punishment" - Rodion Romanovich Raskolnikov. He is a slave to his theory, which is the fruit of his sick mind. The essence of this theory is that, in his opinion, people are divided into two categories: “the right of those who have”, to whom everything is permitted, and “trembling creatures”, who must obey them. This idea prevailed over Raskolnikov's personality, began to control him, led him to murder, cruel and ruthless. He killed the old pawnbroker Alena Ivanovna. One crime led to another. He accidentally killed the old woman's sister, Lizaveta, who unexpectedly appeared at the scene of the crime. An even more disgusting hero who lives by reason is Pyotr Petrovich Luzhin, "Raskolnikov's double." His theory is based on the idea of strong personality who placed themselves above others. He, without disdaining anything, achieves his goals, uses people for his own benefit, without feeling pangs of conscience. He is an insensitive, selfish person. An indicator of this is, for example, the case of Sonya. Luzhin framed and dishonored her, accusing her of stealing money, which he himself planted on a defenseless girl. If the mind goes beyond the boundaries of what is permitted and enslaves the consciousness of a person, it can direct him on the wrong path, make him merciless and cruel.

The conflict between reason and feeling is familiar to almost every person. Someone prefers to live by reason, someone leans towards feelings. Some people under the influence of feelings-passions become immoral, low and immoral, other people's feelings ennoble, lead to the commission of noble, highly moral deeds. S.Ya.Marshak wrote: "Let your mind be kind, and your heart be smart." This means that reason and feeling must support each other, harmony between them is necessary, and although it is extremely difficult to achieve it, one must strive for it. 60 words (no quote in quotes)

(Examples, thoughts, peer advice) Composition on the topic: Mind and feeling Since ancient times, mind and feelings play completely different roles in a person. Although some go hand in hand, the mind warns a person, unlike feelings. Feelings lead a person regardless no matter what is behind this wall. And the mind weighs all the pros and cons. But this does not mean that feelings always deceive us, far from it. Just as without reason, so without feelings, a person would simply turn into an animal. And as we observe, animals also have feelings. Contradictions between reason and feeling as they were and will be. Why? It is explained very simply. A person, no matter how much he wants, will not be able to control his feelings if they are sincere. And the mind, as usual, if it is not overshadowed by feelings, will contradict feelings.

(Examples, thoughts, peer advice) Composition on the topic: Feelings and emotions People often say: "I feel ...". For example, I feel love for my girlfriend, I feel angry at a boor, I feel sad when friends do not call or write for a long time. This is so, for example - usually friends always call me on time or I call them myself. There are just so many feelings, they are so diverse! What are feelings? Feeling, as I read in the dictionary, is an emotional process, it is a subjective attitude of a person to another person, to an object, to an object. Feelings are not controlled by consciousness, reason. How often we are faced with the fact that the mind tells us one thing, and feelings - quite another. For example, it is clear that this girl is a narcissistic liar who is only interested in going to restaurants and discos, but the guy still loves her. Often people are torn between the logical arguments of the mind and strong feelings. Until now, everyone chooses for himself what to listen to - feelings or logic. And there is no universal recipe for how to do it.

Description of the slide:

Feelings are strong and weak, they are positive, neutral and negative. Love and hate are the strongest feelings that a person has. A strong feeling that someone experiences affects even that person's body. Eyes shine from love and joy, posture straightens, face glows. From anger and anger, facial features are twisted. Dejection lowers the shoulders. Anxiety gathers wrinkles on the forehead. Fear makes hands tremble, cheeks burn. In a few days of joy and happiness, a person seems to be transformed. And if you look at a person who has experienced hatred, envy, jealousy for a long time - and what a terrible impression he will make. It was like his soul was twisted. How to distinguish between feelings and emotions, because these two emotional processes are so closely related? Emotions, unlike feelings, have no object. For example, I am afraid of a dog - this is a feeling, but just fear is an emotion. Probably, a person's behavior depends more on feelings than on his rational considerations. No wonder so often we are advised not to succumb to our feelings and emotions. We try to suppress them if they are negative, but they still break through into the light. Sometimes they control us, sometimes we control them, turning anger into repentance, hatred into love, envy into admiration.

The opposition Reason and Sensibility is one of them, and is very interesting for reasoning and inference. In my opinion, it will be most interesting to consider the mind and feelings on the example of one literary hero, somewhat easier - on the example of two heroes of one work. It is logical to start a composition of this type with a definition of the concepts of reason and feelings. Such a beginning will allow not to deviate from the topic and find signs of reason and feelings in those heroes who will be chosen for argumentation. The dictionary of D.N. is well suited for definitions. Ushakov. "Reason is the ability to think logically, comprehending the meaning (meaning for oneself, someone or something) and the connection of phenomena, to understand the laws of development of the world, society and consciously find appropriate ways to transform them. || Consciousness of something, views, as a result of a certain understanding of the world." Human life is unbearable (and boring, one might add, if the essay is written according to "Eugene Onegin") without experiences. The work of L. N. Although, using the example of Natasha, Leo Tolstoy shows that a person who lives with feelings is closer to him. He calls such people beautiful. The absence of reason would lead him to complete submission to his own instincts, and the inability to feel would turn him into a cold and indifferent mechanism, dull and unhappy ... Leo Tolstoy says that both categories - both reason and feeling - are two sides of one medals that define a person's personality, give him the right to be called "man". In the essay, you can talk about what happens if feelings begin to prevail over the ability to think. Or, on the contrary, describe a situation when cold reason manages to stifle the emerging feeling. When does a person feel happy? What to do to learn to subordinate your feelings to reason, while not suppressing them? These questions should be answered in the essay. Examples, thoughts, advice, peer reasoning)

A person will find harmony with nature, with other people and with himself only if he remembers that it is very important to maintain a balance between such categories as "mind" and "feelings". Man cannot do without reason: then he will be akin to an animal, which is guided through life by instinct alone. Much can be lost, much can be lost by making a wrong calculation. It is important not to learn from the mistakes of others, it is important to understand what action will be wrong for you. Without feelings, a person is like dead glass; he cannot hear either the call of his own heart or the quiet prompts of the world around him. So he will wander around, choosing the proper paths and directions, sometimes forgetting that the mind tends to make mistakes. As the Fox from The Little Prince said: “Only one heart is vigilant. Description of the slide:

In the epic novel L.N. Tolstoy's "War and Peace" categories "reason" and "feeling" are brought to the fore. For the writer, it is important to what extent one side or another prevails in the characters, how they are guided in their actions. The inevitable punishment, according to the author, deserves those who do not consider the feelings of other people, who are prudent and mercenary (the Kuragin family, Boris Drubetskoy). Those who surrender to feelings, the dictates of the soul and heart, even if they make mistakes, are able to eventually realize them (remember, for example, Natasha Rostova's attempt to run away with Anatole Kuragin), are capable of forgiveness, sympathy. Of course, Tolstoy, as a true writer-philosopher, called for a harmonious unity of the rational and sensual in man.

That is why Natasha was lucky, who did not particularly bother herself with unnecessary arguments, but was ready to run away with the very first pretty scoundrel. But Sonya, who was primarily guided by reason, suffered a complete fiasco in life. At that time, remaining an old maid, and even a beggar, was the worst option for a woman. The writer himself was also guided by feeling rather than reason. Suffice it to recall at least his last departure from home. Tolstoy's novel War and Peace, the sensible Sonya is opposed to Natasha, who lives with feelings and emotions, and it is clear that Natasha sympathizes with Tolstoy, and therefore she finds her happiness, while Sonya remains alone. However, mind and feelings must be balanced, and Tolstoy shows in the novel that Natasha, succumbing to a momentary impulse, passion, is ready to run away with Anatole Kuragin. That is, living only with feelings is dangerous, as well as analyzing and subordinating everything to reason. For example, when Natasha Rostova falls in love, she is ready to run away with Anatoly. I wonder why Leo Tolstoy did not allow her to do this? It's so romantic to run away with your lover, even if you suffer later. Would you run away? Or would you make a decision based on reason? What will the parents say? What about the world? I would run away. Life should be bright, like splashes of champagne. You have to live with your heart." Examples, thoughts, advice, peer reasoning)

Not only L.N. Tolstoy in the work "War and Peace" touched upon the struggle of the mind with emotions and feelings. Everyone experienced such a war, and everyone established who was the capital on their ship of life - the mind or the heart. The hero Andrey Bolkonsky raised the mind above the feelings. At the same time, in the novel, the sensual side is more revealed by female representatives, for example, Natasha Rostova or Princess Marya.

A magnificent example of Russian classics is the novel by I.S. Turgenev "Fathers and Sons", in which the author intentionally collides feelings and reason, leading the reader to the idea that any theory has the right to exist if it does not contradict life itself. Evgeny Bazarov, putting forward rationalization ideas for changing society, the old way of life, preferred the exact sciences that could benefit the state, society, humanity, while denying all the spiritual components of human life - art, love, beauty and aesthetics of nature. Such denial and unrequited love for Anna Sergeevna leads the hero to the collapse of his own theory, disappointment and moral devastation.

These two categories receive an interesting embodiment in the work of A.P. Chekhov. For example, in “Lady with a Dog”, where the all-consuming power of love is proclaimed, it is shown how much this feeling can affect a person’s life, literally regenerating people to a new life. In this regard, the final lines of the story are indicative, in which it is stated that the heroes understood with their minds how many obstacles and difficulties lay ahead of them, but they were not afraid of it: “And it seemed that a little more - and the solution would be found, and then a new, beautiful one would begin. life; and it was clear to both that the end was still far, far away and that the most difficult and difficult was just beginning.

The literature of the 20th century also presented many works in which the categories of "mind" and "feeling" occupy one of the primary places.

Is it true that in a fit of feelings a person commits both vile deeds and great discoveries that drive evolution and progress? What is a dispassionate mind capable of, a cold calculation? The search for answers to these questions has occupied the best minds of mankind since life appeared. And this dispute, which is more important - reason or feeling - has been going on since antiquity, and everyone has their own answer. “People live by feelings,” says Erich Maria Remarque, but immediately adds that in order to realize this, reason is needed. Description of the slide:

On the pages of the world fiction the problem of the influence of the feelings and mind of a person is raised very often. So, for example, in Leo Tolstoy's epic novel "War and Peace" two types of heroes appear: on the one hand, this is the impulsive Natasha Rostova, the sensitive Pierre Bezukhov, the fearless Nikolai Rostov, on the other hand, the arrogant and prudent Helen Kuragina and her brother, callous Anatole. Many conflicts in the novel come precisely from the excess of feelings of the characters, whose ups and downs are very interesting to watch. A vivid example of how a burst of feelings, thoughtlessness, ardor of character, impatient youth influenced the fate of the heroes is the case of Natasha's betrayal, because for her, funny and young, it was incredibly long to wait for her wedding with Andrei Bolkonsky, could she subdue her unexpectedly flashed feelings for Anatole the voice of reason? Here we have a real drama of mind and feelings in the soul of the heroine, she faces a difficult choice: to leave her fiancé and leave with Anatole, or not to succumb to a momentary impulse and wait for Andrei. It was in favor of feelings that this difficult choice was made, only chance prevented Natasha. We cannot condemn the girl, knowing her impatient nature and thirst for love. It was feelings that dictated Natasha's impulse, after which she regretted her act when she analyzed it.

It was the feeling of boundless, all-consuming love that helped Margarita reunite with her lover in Mikhail Afanasyevich Bulgakov's novel The Master and Margarita. The heroine, without a second's hesitation, gives her soul to the devil and goes with him to the ball, where the killers and hangmen kiss her knee. Having abandoned a secure, measured life in a luxurious mansion with a loving husband, she rushes into an adventurous adventure with evil spirits. Here is a vivid example of how a person, having chosen a feeling, created his happiness. Thus, the statement of Erich Maria Remarque is absolutely true: guided only by reason, a person can live, but it will be a colorless, dull and joyless life, only feelings give life indescribably bright colors, leaving emotionally filled memories. As the great classic Leo Tolstoy wrote: “If we assume that human life can be controlled by reason, then the very possibility of life will be destroyed.”

Description of the slide:

People are driven by different impulses. Sometimes they are driven by sympathy, warm attitude and they forget the voice of reason. You can divide humanity into two halves. Some people constantly analyze their behavior, they are used to thinking through every step. Such individuals are practically not amenable to deception. However, it is extremely difficult for them to arrange their personal lives. Because from the moment they meet a potential soulmate, they begin to look for benefits and try to derive a formula for perfect compatibility. Therefore, noticing such a mindset, others move away from them.

Others are completely subject to the call of feelings. During love, it is difficult to notice even the most obvious realities. Therefore, they are often deceived and suffer greatly from this.

The complexity of relations between representatives of different sexes is that at different stages of the relationship, men and women use a reasonable approach too much, or vice versa, trust the choice of a course of action to the heart.

The presence of fiery feelings, of course, distinguishes humanity from the animal world, but without iron logic and some calculation it is impossible to build a cloudless future.

There are many examples of people suffering because of their feelings. They are vividly described in Russian and world literature. An example is the work of Leo Tolstoy "Anna Karenina". If the main character had not fallen in love recklessly, but had trusted the voice of reason, she would have remained alive, and the children would not have to experience the death of their mother.

Both reason and feelings must be present in consciousness in approximately equal proportions, then there is a chance for absolute happiness. Therefore, one should not refuse in some situations the wise advice of older and more intelligent mentors and relatives. There is a popular wisdom: "A smart person learns from the mistakes of others, and a fool learns from his own." If you draw the correct conclusion from this expression, you can humble the impulses of your feelings in some cases, which can adversely affect fate.

Although sometimes it is very difficult to make an effort on yourself. Especially if sympathy for a person overwhelms. Some feats and self-sacrifices are made out of great love for faith, country, and one's own duty. If the armies used only cold calculation, they would hardly raise their banners over the conquered heights. It is not known how the Great Patriotic War if not for the love of the Russian people for their land, relatives and friends.

Composition 2 option

Mind or feelings? Or maybe something else? Can reason be combined with feelings? This is the question every person asks himself. When you are faced with two opposites, one side screams, choose the mind, the other screams that you can’t go anywhere without feelings. And you don't know where to go and what to choose.

The mind is a necessary thing in life, thanks to it we can think about the future, make our plans and achieve our goals. Thanks to our mind, we become more successful, but it is the feelings that make people out of us. Feelings are not inherent in everyone and they are different, both positive and negative, but it is they that make us do unimaginable things.

Sometimes, thanks to feelings, people perform such unrealistic actions that it took years to achieve this with the help of reason. So what to choose? Everyone chooses for himself, having chosen the mind, a person will follow one path and, perhaps, be happy, choosing feelings, a completely different road promises a person. No one can predict in advance whether it will be good for him from the chosen path or not, we can draw conclusions only at the end. As to the question whether the mind and the senses can cooperate with each other, I think they can. People can love each other, but understand that in order to create a family, they need money, and for this they need to work or study. Here in this case, the mind and feelings act together.

It seems to me that these two concepts only start working together when you grow up. While a person is small, he has to choose between two paths, it is very difficult for a small person to find points of contact between reason and feeling. Thus, a person always faces a choice, every day he has to fight with it, because sometimes the mind can help in a difficult situation, and sometimes feelings are pulled out of a situation where the mind would be powerless.

Brief essay

Many believe that the mind and feelings are two things that are completely incompatible with each other. But to me, they are two parts of the same whole. There are no feelings without reason and vice versa. Everything we feel, we think about, and sometimes when we think, feelings appear. These are two parts that create an idyll. If at least one of the components is missing, then all actions will be in vain.

For example, when people fall in love, they must turn on their mind, since it is he who can evaluate the whole situation and tell the person whether he made the right choice.

The mind helps not to make a mistake in serious situations, and feelings are sometimes able to intuitively suggest the right path, even if it seems unrealistic. Mastering the two components of one whole is not as easy as it sounds. On the life path you will have to face considerable difficulties until you yourself learn to control and find the right facet of these components. Of course, life is not perfect and sometimes it is necessary to turn off one thing.

You can't always balance. Sometimes you need to trust your feelings and make a leap forward, this will be an opportunity to feel life in all its colors, regardless of whether the choice is right or not.

There are many professions in the world, each person has to choose his own, to look for his vocation. “All professions are needed, all professions are important,” a well-known nursery rhyme tells us.

  • What should a person be guided by in his actions: reason or feelings?

The human soul is somewhat reminiscent of scales, on the bowl of which sometimes there are opposite concepts: good and evil, honor and dishonor, love and hatred, reason and feelings. Each time, performing any act, a person listens to his inner voice, expecting to hear instructions, a certain plan of action. But most often, the inner self seems to be divided into two parts: the voice of reason commands to do one thing, and the soul - completely different. Why should a person listen? In my opinion, in the event of such a conflict, you need to be able to find a compromise, choose something in between, because it is in this situation that it will be possible to equalize the bowls of internal scales, find harmony and real happiness with minimal suffering.

As a rule, the fate of people driven only by feelings and emotions is very tragic. They either torture themselves needlessly, or get lost in the labyrinth of life, or end up making irreparable mistakes. The person who drowned out the sober voice of reason with a melody of bright feelings is Georgy Zheltkov from A. Kuprin's story "Garnet Bracelet". Zheltkov is a petty official, but the social status does not prevent the hero from falling in love with Princess Vera Sheina. She, of course, does not reciprocate George, but he continues to love a woman with pure, disinterested love, not concealing his feelings. It seems that circumstances should extinguish the tenderness in Zheltkov's heart: Vera marries a prominent person, is happily married, knows only the modest initials of George and vaguely imagines the strength of his love, but the man loves Vera more and more every day. He acts contrary to common sense: he gives Sheina notorious gifts, writes letters, steals handkerchiefs. And this love leads to a real tragedy: realizing that his beloved will be unhappy because of him, that he destroys her calm family life with his fiery feeling, Zheltkov commits suicide. In my opinion, the reader, having learned about the fate of George, should understand that one cannot blindly believe the voice of the soul, one must listen to reason and try to achieve a state of balance.

People who rely in their lives only on dry arguments and mechanical reason are just as tragic as people of emotions. Sometimes in their actions they can seem completely inhuman, cruel, callous people. The hero of the epic novel by V. Hugo "Les Misérables" Javert relies only on the law, an imaginary justice that does not allow for correction and spiritual resurrection. In one of the episodes of the novel, a policeman sees how Fantine, a courtesan from the bottom social life, scolds the young gentleman. Javert forcibly takes the girl to the police station and sentences her to six months in prison, finally breaking the unfortunate Fantine. She tells the policeman that she is not to blame for the situation, the gentleman humiliated and insulted her in every possible way, and then put a handful of snow under the neckline of the open dress of Fantine, who was already dying from illness. Not of her own free will, she began to sell the body: her little daughter lives with innkeepers, all the money she earns goes only to support the girl. Previously, Fantine worked at the enterprise, but because of the denunciation of one of the workers, she was fired. However, even a terrifying story does not make any impression on the policeman, as if nothing can disturb his calm, emotionless soul. Watching people like Javert, we must understand that life without deep feelings is no life at all, but only a barren existence.

Not all mistakes can be corrected, not every act can be changed, and not every feeling can be resurrected by will alone. To avoid terrible consequences, a person must carefully consider his actions, relying on both reason and feelings equally, being able to listen to his inner self. A person must try to find that very golden mean, that very balance, that balance between reason and feeling, to be truly happy, to be truly alive.

A loving person is guided by feelings or reason?

Probably every person asks this question at least once in his life. Who
    -
    then
comes to the conclusion that for a man in love there are no boundaries, and he is completely in
the power of their feelings, who
    -
    Same
believes that reason will always prevail over feelings, which
no matter how strong love is. It seems to me that there can be no unambiguous answer to this question.
answer, each person can be sure only in his thoughts, actions and intentions.

    In artistic

works you can meet heroes who experienced
so pure, sincere feelings that they were ready to do anything for the sake of their loved ones. Olesya from
the story of the same name by A.I. Kuprin spent her whole life in the forest, isolated from society.
    The only person
m, with whom she spoke, was her grandmother. The village believed that
    grandmother

witch, and they banished her, along with little Olesya, into the forest. Now that girl
grew up and when Ivan Timofeevich appeared in her life, she was not alien to human
    feelings and she

I loved the young man with all my heart. The biggest fear in life
Olesya was going to church, but she knew that for her beloved, the Orthodox faith is of great
meaning. Realizing the possible consequences of such an act, the girl nevertheless decided to go
    in the church
    v. Of course, at that moment, she was ruled by emotions and feelings, and not by reason. After
Olesya defended the service in the church, people beat her in a crowd, in anger Olesya showered them
cursing and ran home to the forest. When Ivan Timofeevich found out about what had happened, it was
it's too late: Olesya realized that she needed to leave these parts forever. So ended
their love story. Perhaps if Olesya had been guided by reason in her actions, and
not feelings, this story would have turned out differently.

    Sometimes to fight for happiness
one's own and loved ones, one has to involve in
more reason, not feelings. For example, Arthur Gray from the story "Scarlet Sails" fell in love with
Assol, whom he first saw sleeping in the bushes. Later in the tavern people became
    gossip to gray
ro Assol and her father, they called her crazy from
    -
    for what with
childhood, the girl is waiting for the prince on a ship with scarlet sails. However, this is not a prince at all.
frightened, he understood that Assol was just special, like himself. Gray decided to make his dream come true
    girls bought
matter, raised the scarlet sails on his ship and ordered to move towards
the city where Assol lived. When the girl saw the scarlet sails, everything in her soul
fluttered. A few minutes later Assol was already on deck. So a reasonable approach to
    Art helped the situation
cheers for Gray to find his love.

I believe that a person should always be in harmony, you can’t break two such
important and inseparable concepts like love and reason. Even if a person experiences
incredibly strong feelings, he must sensibly assess the situation.
